More non production fan art for Big Hero 6!!! I wanted to do this painting to express what it was like working on BH6.. Like all animated films, its very much a collaborative process, and working on these characters took a whole team of talent to do them.. From Paul Felix who set the overall style, Lorelay Bove who handled the color and costuming, Jin Kim who translated my drawings in to the CG pipeline, Sarah Airriess and Minkyu Lee who helped with the crowds.. and all the talented artists that spent a lot of weekends and overtime hours getting this film to look as great as it could look.. THANK YOU!!!! Just like Hiro needed to work with his group of friends.. we artists need to stick together and support/push each other*
Sometimes I hate explaining too much what’s happening in a composition.. but in case no one gets it.. I tried to symbolize the past (tadashi’s hat).. present(Hiro).. and future(baymax toy in the window) by putting them on one vertical line..also the poses that the characters are in is reminiscent of our review times at disney feature.. : )
Shiyoon killin it. I’ve got so much admiration for his work and work ethic.
So I kind of dropped the ball on the whole 7 Days of Color challenge; things have been busy and stressful lately and I haven’t had time to do much besides sketch. I was bummed that I couldn’t get everything finished but this was one i had been prepared in advance for the next red day.
